DALLAS: Famous Pakistani super star Reema Khan said that Pakistani Americans always come to help whenever Pakistan goes through difficult period.
She was delivering keynote address at Pakistani physicians representative group APPNA’s North Texas annual award distribution ceremony in Dallas.
“Pakistanis living abroad feel the pain close to them and open their wallets and offer themselves to help. This is why we never lose hope in Pakistan.”
The film star Reema expressed her frustration on the current situation and level of violence in Pakistan. She further said that she has faith in human strength and resolve.
“We will overcome all of the hurdles and we will have bright future. We may or may not be living here for rest of our lives, so it is our responsibility that we educate our children on Pakistani culture, traditions and language,” she said.
Reema recited a number of sonnets on this occasion on Pakistan’s current situation.
She thanked Dr. Dawood Nasir and Dallas chapter of APPNA for hosting her as chief guest in their annual award ceremony and also for arranging such an excellent event.
The event was also addressed by APPNA President Dr. Dawood Nasir, Paris Texas Mayor Dr. Arjumund Hashmi, Dr. Tariq Shahab and others in APPNA leadership.
Awards were distributed to people with services in various fields for their services to the community & APPNA causes. Mayor Dr. Arjumand Hashmi, Jang group correspondent and journalist Raja Zahid Khanzada, Fun Asia owner Shariq Hamid, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Dr. Hasan Hashmi, Dr. Tariq Shahab and Richardson Councilman Amir Umar were among them.
A fashion show was presented by Dallas fashion designer Dallas Studio “D” which was participated by local models in Pakistani dresses; Pakistani women took special interest in the fashion show.
The program ended with a music show. Pakistan TV and film vocalist and Nigar Award winner Arshad Mahmood performed for the audience.
APPNA North Texas president Dr. Dawood Nasir thanked all the Doctors and American specialty’s owner Abdul Hameed and doctors’ families.
He said the community services provided by APPNA could not be possible without cooperation and help from constituent doctors, for which he is thankful. The attendee’s enjoyed the event of physicians business meeting intertwined with social gathering.
